Standard Change-Makers has a long history of serving our customers quickly and with total commitment to quality. As such, we occasionally implement new systems to improve our operations. We’re in the midst of one such transition right now; and unfortunately, the changeover is taking longer than we thought it would.
Our valued customers have been dealing with long lead times on machine shipments for a few months now. Though we have always prided ourselves on our standard lead times within 7-10 days, and 2-3 day quick shipments for those that need expedited service, our lead times have not been meeting this standard. Instead, lead times have reached 4 weeks or longer.
For this, we sincerely apologize. We assure you we have been working to improve deliveries.
Standard Change-Makers has had a convergence of changes in personnel, and the new team has faced a steep learning curve. In addition, we recently made an investment in a new ERP software system. As with most things electronic, there have been challenges as our operation transitioned to this new way of doing things. The process of transferring the inventory management for 10,000+ parts and ordering various components and kits has been complicated. Along the way, we had some bugs in the customized modules for the way we operate and process purchase orders and sales orders. This led to parts shortages and reorder points missed. While we were adjusting the new system, we had a perfect storm of changes going on around us.
The good news is this operational update will streamline things and improve response times for our valued customers in the years to come. The bad part has been the bumpy ride we’ve all been experiencing for the past several months. Fortunately, we are pulling our lead times back to our normal range right now, and continuing to work on system adjustments and changes.
Our new team is getting up to speed, and we have cut into the backlog significantly in recent weeks.
